A quick lesson in how information spreads in the Internet age.
Yesterday afternoon, TechCrunch Europe (disclosure: I write for their US site) broke the somewhat-interesting news that James Whatley had resigned from his job as Head of Social Media of voicemail-to-text startup Spinvox.
Spinvox, as you may be dimly aware, has been in the news recently after the BBC alleged that its top secret voice recognition software may be little more than an army of underpaid call-centre workers in South Africa, listening to your private messages and transcribing them. Until now Whatley has been the company’s chief apologist, so his resignation is big news.
Or at least it would be if it were true.
