Finally, after about a million years of negotiation and a tiny bit more money than I’d have preferred, I am the proud owner of my own name.

Which is to say, I’ve finally been able to buy PaulCarr.com from the domain name speculator who sucked it up after the original owner – Paul Carr the actor – died. Given that his sad death made me – officially – the most important Paul Carr in the world, it only seemed right and proper.

You’ll notice that I’ve already moved the site over to the new domain but don’t worry, any permalinks etc will (hopefully) all still work. Also, if you have any email addresses for me ending in @bringingnothing.com, they’ll just automatically foward to their @paulcarr.com counterparts.

Having said that, there’s about an 80% certainty that I’ll have screwed something up during the renaming so let me know if you spot anything glaring and, if you’re the first to spot it, I’ll send you a book for your troubles.

I also took the opportunity of the name change to investigate properly why my RSS feed hasn’t been working for a few weeks. Turns out a dodgy Wordpress ‘Most Popular Posts’ plugin had inserted a rogue space in the first line of the feed. RSS is apparently such a delicate technology that this blank line is enough to kill it. Fixed now. Follow my feed, why doncha?

In other news, the Christmas issue of Spectator Business hit the shelves/mailboxes today, complete with their ‘Best Reads Of 2008′ feature. Far be it from me to boast, but…

Ahem.
